am13er asked: Dumb question here, because that’s all I’m capable of when it comes to asking you stuff, haha.  Do you happen to know what the names are of the fonts you used for the writing of your name on all your albums?  I’ve been meaning to ask for years now because me & my friends wanted to design our own shirts/hoodies to promote you but kept forgetting to. VE: Not dumb.  It’s something I would ask.  The Fifteen Minute Relationship: can’t remember. SDK #1 and Sunlight Searchparty are my handwriting.  SDK #2 is a font called BabyFat I believe.  Songs, Volume 1: Woodstock is my typewriter but there are fonts that mimic that.  Little Daggers is a font called Blue Highway D type.  And Looking For A Feeling is a font called Materhorn.  All the fonts are altered from their original form.

landybham asked: Last year, you listed April Fool’s Day as your 3rd best American holiday (more or less). So … did you pull any good pranks today (4/1) or have any pulled on you?

VE: April Fool’s only rose so high on the list through process of elimination.  Because the other holidays suck so bad.  I like the fact that holidays give you a reason to see loved ones and give you a break from the outside world.  I just hate that it takes holidays for those things to happen.  What ends up happening is so much pressure is put on those one-day holidays to take a break that I can’t end up relaxing or enjoying them.  Americans don’t know how to vacation.  But I do enjoy pranks.  I had some ideas but didn’t end up following through on any of them.  Did you pull any?

acousticfiend asked: Are you still planning to release a B-Sides album? I vaguely remember you saying something about doing one. If you still planned on it have you considered doing a Kick Starter to help raise the money, also allowing us to do special pre-orders? I only ask because I’ve recently seen more artist start using Kick Starter as a great way to get work off the ground and running, and as soon as I heard about it I thought that would be a great way for Val to release his book, but then I remember what you said to Cherestine and figured maybe the book wouldn’t be best to suggest now but a b-sides cd? VE: I know about Kick Starter and similar sites like Pledgemusic.  I think they’re cool tools but I’m waiting for the right time, if ever, to use them.  I think they can be overused.  Yes, I am releasing more “unreleased” music.  This summer.  Stay tuned.
