Q&A: The Danger of Going Internet-less & The Shortage of Male Accessories
Anonymous asked: I hate being without internet because I always miss out on big news and stuff. Being internet-less for a month, I was unaware that you had just released a new album. If I knew, I would have totally done anything to get it as soon as possible. Can’t wait till it is fully released and if it is anything like your previous albums, it will be amazing and pure orgasm on the ears. Oh and by the way, I really loved “Too Far” but from that album, my favorite song is still “Got A Habit Now”. :)
VE: No problem. The album should be out in early October, though I’m not sure it’s “anything like previous albums.” You let me know. I’m curious, what made you internet-less? I enjoy doing it—disappearing—though it’s not so good for my career. Boo.
mandystern asked: Hi Val! I was just wondering if you were still playing the Rock The Schools event at the Gramercy now that it’s been moved to November 18th. I’m going and I’m really hoping you’re still on the bill!
VE: Yes, we are playing the new date! Just posted the show. See you there.
Anonymous asked: Dear Val, sometimes you wear glasses. Are they real or fake?
VE: They are real.
Anonymous asked: Dear Val, a few moments ago I asked you if your glasses are real or fake. I just realized that that question might be rude and intrusive. I apologize if it is. If possible I would like to modify my question to: What are your thoughts on fake glasses? I think that’s less rude. Also, I admire you quite a lot.
VE: Oh, you again. Hi. No offense taken. I don’t have an opinion on fake glasses. Here’s what I think. Allow me to go on a tangent and voice a frustration. Men don’t have a lot of accessories. Women have purses, jewelry, makeup, hair clips, you name it. Men have watches, a hat maybe, and an occasional scarf. Now, I know you weren’t asking a gender question but I do feel that glasses provide the male with another option and I like that option—fake or real. I suppose people with bad eyesight—me being one of them—might get irked at people who only pretend to have bad eyes to cultivate a look. But it seems like there are more important things to be uptight about.
Anonymous asked: hey val i just wanted to say thanks for being so awesome with your fans. as you treat them like they are your friends which is radical. its good to have a friend in you. hope this doesnt come out wrong to you when you read it. -lunch buddy brittany.
VE: That makes me smile. After the high of the Kickstarter experience and the making of the album, it’s been super quiet and I appreciate the feedback. Where is everyone? Are you listening to this album? I hope so. I am needy and need you.
am13er asked: I saw that on your website you’ve added a November 17th show in Phila, what time is that show at? Or is it too soon to know? The reason I’m asking is I’m trying to make some of my PA friends go see you and I checked the World Cafe Live site and you’re not on there.
VE: I made an error posting that show so early. Apparently it is not confirmed. Stay tuned. Trying to figure out if it will happen. Might be a different night at a different club. Hopefully there will be a bunch of Northeast shows posted soon.
